HIGH POINT, N.C. – William Joseph Maher, 75, a resident of 2328 Addison Blvd., died Monday, July 5, at High Point Regional Hospital.
He was born in Philadelphia, Pa., Nov. 28, 1928, a son of William Joseph Maher and Loretta Conneen Maher. He was a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science with a BS in textile engineering. He received his MBA from Drexel University. He was of the Catholic faith.
On Nov. 29, 1954, he was married to Miss Mary Agnes Higgins who died June 25.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Cathy Maher Vernon of High Point and Mrs. Janet Maher Huneycutt and her husband Rodney of Albemarle; two sons, William Joseph Maher Jr. and his wife Gwen Maher of Palmdale, Calif., and Stephen Andrew Maher and his wife Jodie Leigh Maher of Turner; a sister, Mrs. Loretta M. Delfina of Glenolden, Pa.; seven grandchildren, Matthew Clayton Vernon, Emily Lauren Vernon, Eric William Huneycutt, Griffin Daniel Huneycutt, Nicole Marie Maher, Brandon Andrew Maher and Patrick Joseph Maher; two stepgrandchildren, Trent Davis Vernon and his wife April Vernon and Robert Kenneth Huneycutt.
