RUMFORD – Donald J. McCann Jr., 49, died Saturday, April 24, at his residence on Linnell Street, Rumford, with his family by his side.

Born in Rumford, Sept. 12, 1954, a son of Donald J. and Carolyn (Rice) McCann Sr., he graduated from Mexico High School, Class of 1972.

He had been employed as a millwright at Irving Forest Products in Dixfield. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and he loved the outdoors.

He was married in Mexico, on July 12, 1985, to the former Patricia DeSalle, who survives of Rumford; a daughter, Carly and two sons, Matthew and Andrew McCann all of Rumford; his mother, Carolyn McCann of Rumford; three sisters, Sharon Weeks and husband, Tim of Phoenix, Ariz., Ellen Theriault and husband, Tom of Mexico and Rebecca Weston and husband, Fred of Roxbury Pond; and he will be missed by his many friends, niece and nephews.
