LEWISTON — The Central Maine Human Resources Association is offering a program on how to handle investigations of employee issues Tuesday, Oct. 17.
Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 7:45 a.m. at the Carriage House, 1119 Lisbon St.
Jeff Cutler, SHRM-SCP, senior employee relations consultant, vice president, TD Bank, N.A., will be the speaker.
Properly investigating employee claims is often highly sensitive and emotional and includes a significant degree of complexity. The program will explore approaches that will assist attendees with fact-gathering, interviewing skills, assessment and advice. Providing a sense of fairness and authority are also key ingredients to successful outcomes. Cutler will examine how to conduct an investigation and reduce the risk of claims in the process.
There will be time to network before and after the program.
Registration online is preferred and available at www.cmhra.org. Questions about membership should be directed to Cindy Letourneau at: [email protected]. Submit questions in advance to Rebecca Webber, CMHRA president at [email protected].
The program is sponsored by CGI Business Solutions.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
