KEENE, N.H. – Irving Shaunesey Jr., 66, died April 21, at Cheshire Medical Center following a short illness.

He was born March 10, 1940, son of Irving S. and Eleanor (Varney) Shaunesey Sr. and lived in Auburn and Bangor, Woodsville and Milford, N.H., before moving to Keene many years ago.

He graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1958, and from the Auburn Maine School of Commerce, class of 1960, of which his aunt owned and operated many years ago. He went to Husson College, Bangor, where he received a degree in education.

He taught in Woodsville for two years, and in 1966 became the business department chairman at Monadnock Regional High School. In 1978, he was hired by the Keene School District as a business education teacher at the Cheshire Vocational Center. He retired in 1998. He also retired from UPS, April 20, where he had been employed part-time as a night clerk for 27 years.

He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria (Nason) Shaunesey of Keene; three daughters, Bonnie S. and Michael Trombley, Dr. Kimberly A. Shaunesey and Amy L. and Donald LaFontaine; a sister, Carole Shaunesey and Herman Gatchell of Lewiston; five grandchildren; one niece; and two nephews.

He was predeceased by his mother many years ago; and father very recently.
