1915 – 2006
LEWISTON – Charles R. Prince, 91, of Sutherland Pond Road, Sabattus, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, at Central Maine Medical Center.
He was born in Sabattus on June 1, 1915, a son of the late Arlon and Amanda (Jordan) Prince. He was educated in the Sabattus school system and graduated from Sabattus High School. He was also on the Sabattus high cross country running team.
He married the love of his life, Marjorie Palmer on Aug. 20, 1941, and together they raised their children and ran the family-owned farm in Sabattus. He attended West Bowdoin Baptist Church, was a 70-year member of the Webster Masonic Lodge, and was a life member of the Wales Grange.
He leaves his wife of 65 years, Marjorie Prince of Sabattus; two sons, John Prince and wife, Lakur, of Boaz, Ala. and William Prince and wife, Candice, of Charleston, W.Va.; five daughters, Florence and husband, Howard MacMullen, of Canton, Mass., Nancy Prince of Tampa, Fla., Karen and husband, Frank Sawyer, of Lewiston, Sharon and husband, Robert Buelow, of Bowdoinham and Susan Prince of Biddeford; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois Rancourt of Sabattus; a brother, Arlon Prince Jr. and wife, Mary, of Pensacola, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Clyde Prince; a brother, Linwood Prince; and two sisters, Margaret Marble and Emma Webster.
