PORTLAND – Verna R. Chadbourne, 75, of Bridgton, died in Portland on Aug. 12, at the Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Naples on Nov. 21, 1930, the daughter of Albert and Addie (Meserve) Ridlon. She was employed at Pleasant Mountain Moc in Bridgton for more than 30 years, before her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting and reading. She was an avid NASCAR fan, especially Jeff Gordon. Her true joy in life was having her home always open for family and friends. She called her home the “free café” for everyone to come and enjoy coffee and homemade cookies.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, John Seavey, Jean Campbell, David Seavey, Janet Seavey, Janice Larson and Robert Seavey; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
