RUMFORD — A surprise birthday party was held at the Eagles recently for Valerie Allen.
In lieu of gifts, donations of $406 were made to the River Valley Animal Advocates in Canton.
The nonprofit organization has helped more than 1,100 area cats to get sterilized and vaccinated against rabies since 2010.
