There is nothing wrong with people being asked to work in exchange for public assistance. It is well known that when a person has a meaningful job, he or she can rise out of his or her own situation while benefitting the public good and the community. The offshoots of that are higher self-esteem, learning new skills that are needed by employers and it discourages dependency that will break the cycle.
That is why I am supporting Ben Chin for mayor who has a plan to address this important issue.
Ben Chin has a vision for Lewiston that will serve the people well.
