Pauline E. Moore
1926 – 2009
NORWAY — Pauline E. Moore, 83, of South Paris, a very devoted wife, mother and grandmother died after a two year battle with cancer on Tuesday, Oct. 13, at Stephens Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Livermore Falls, May 5, 1926, the daughter of Willis and Beatrice Corkum Eichel. She was educated in Livermore Falls schools and graduated from high school in 1946. On Sept. 1, 1950, she married Thompson Moore and became a farmer’s wife, raising chickens and apples.
She worked in the office of a heating fuel company for a number of years and had been a homemaker all of her life, she also had various outside jobs in retail and cake decorating. They moved to South Paris in 1973, where she was active in the extension service.
She joined the Methodist church as a child, transferring to Livermore and South Paris. She was a member and past officer of the South Paris Snowhoppers Snowmobile Club and the Fireside Friends camping group. She was a Girl Scout and later a Den Mother in the Cub Scouts.
She is survived by her husband, Thompson Moore of South Paris; a daughter, Melinda Hewett and her husband, Larry, of Leeds; a son, Thompson “Jay” Moore Jr. and his wife, Amy, of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Andrea deJongh and her husband, Daniel, Thompson Moore III and his companion, Bonnie, Heather Herrick and her husband, Christopher, Kaylee Moore, Alysia Vance and her husband, Paul and Ryan Warfield and his wife, Katie; three great-grandchildren, Alexandrea Thompson Herrick, Gwen Warfield and Ryley Warfield; a brother, Willis Eichel and his wife, Carmen, of Las Vegas, Nev.; extended family members, Manton and Judy Moore, Frank and Wanda Moore, Mabel and Fred Smith, Emily Moore and David and Patricia Moore; as well as many nieces and nephews.
