It made me ache to see the Sun Journal coverage (Jan. 31) of the fire that destroyed the house in Hebron where my family lived and farmed for more than 20 years.

It was an extraordinary place to grow up, rich in history and surrounded by beautiful land and generous neighbors.

We called that place Legendairy Farm after our first dairy cow, a dark-faced Jersey named Legend.

I suppose it’s simply legendary now – a memory for those of us who really loved it when it was whole.
