I didn’t agree with the Auburn City Council’s decision to disband the joint services commission and I disagreed even more with Mayor John Jenkins’ unilateral call to do so the week before.

However, in fairness to the Auburn council and staff, there were not any documented or easily obtainable savings ever pointed out by the commission that our staff agreed with, and the council did, independently, cut taxes for Auburn taxpayers last year.
