This is in response to the letter from Kylie Martin on Nov. 20.
In the first place, the war in Iraq has been going on for five years, not eight.
Gas and fuel prices are lower now than they have been for months.
As for the statement that there were no weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, the American Forces Press Service announced on July 7 that defense personnel have completed the transfer of 550 metric tons of Iraqi uranium ore (also called “yellowcake”) to Canada. That was a classified mission dubbed “Operation McCall.” According to published reports, including CBS news, the United States secretly moved a huge stockpile of yellowcake during a two-week period from Iraq to Canada, partly to keep it from falling into the hands of either terrorists or foreign governments such as Iran. That could potentially have been used to make nuclear weapons.
Obviously, President George W. Bush knew what he was doing.
