I’m writing to encourage voters on Nov. 4 to re-elect Sawin Millett to the Legislature, representing Norway and surrounding towns. He has a long and distinguished background in education and in local and state government.

As a member of the SAD 17 Board of Directors, I have often contacted him regarding matters of importance to our local schools. He is always informed on education matters, responds quickly to our requests for information updates and follows our advice on legislative issues affecting our district.

I was also impressed by the way he moderated our district budget meeting in June and his knowledge on school finance and law.

Citizens benefit from having knowledgeable and experienced legislators representing them in Augusta. It will be especially important to have that quality of representation in the next two years.
