Americans recognize the importance of obtaining a college degree, but that degree is becoming increasingly difficult to obtain as tuition costs soar and students take on significant loans.
As voters decide on the candidate they will support in the upcoming presidential election, I hope they will select the man they believe best understands the necessity of changing our current financial aid system.
Who is more likely to carry out a real plan to overhaul financial aid so that all young people who want to go to college can do so?
Barack Obama who, along with his wife, Michelle, only recently finished paying back their college loans, offers two specific changes to current practices: Elimination of the separate FAFSA form, and creation of a tax credit for college tuition.
I will be voting for Barack Obama and urge others to do the same.
