I want Sen. Barack Obama to be the president, not just because I believe in the changes he envisions, but because he has already done so much to unite the country and restore its relationship to the world. The changes feel doable.
Through the process of his campaign, he has made enormous gains in curing the illness of racism, and respecting the equality and gifts of women.
Already this is becoming a nation of hope and clarity.
I support the candidacy of Tom Allen for the Senate because his voting record in the House indicates that he has the knowledge and determination to follow a common-sense approach to a revived economy and healthy environment.
I believe he will support the president and all people with the same courage that it took to speak his mind about the mistake of going to war with Iraq.
