This is my first letter endorsing a political candidate. But these are hard times, and I’m tired of disingenuous politicians who blame others for what’s wrong, while they work so hard pretending to be everybody’s friend that people don’t know what they stand for.

These times call for authentic candidates who care about people and have the courage and smarts to get things done. I think Peggy Dwyer from Livermore, who is running for House District 81, is one of those people.

She’s the real deal: an independent, hard worker, who, having worked as a business woman, a Maine Guide, a LURC staffer, and who operates a small farm, has sound experience.

All anyone has to do is talk with her about issues, such as health care and heating costs, to know she’s got the savvy to get things done for folks.

She’s a breath of fresh air.
