I want moxie for Maine.

Moxie means fortitude, determination, backbone, initiative – qualities Maine legislators need.

Legislators are needed who will work for Maine’s people and businesses, and who will fight the tax-and-spend tide in Augusta, to champion policies and laws that help, not hurt, Mainers.

While I applaud Sen. Peggy Rotundo for sponsoring the bill to make Moxie “Maine’s official soft drink,” I do not applaud her vote for the soft-drink tax, earmarked to bolster the dismal failure known as DirigoHealth.

Dirigo and excessive taxes are not the way to expand health insurance coverage. Making health insurance affordable through good economic policy is.

But to get responsible, effective policies into place, the state needs pro-business, pro-Maine representatives in Augusta. It needs fresh voices.

Because of that, I am supporting Michael Dumas for state representative for House District 74.

I want moxie for Maine.
