The Allen Hill Animal Shelter in Oxford had to close due to the heavy rain that fell on July 30 and washed the driveway out. With the help of family, friends and the community, far and near, and the donations that came in to the shelter, it was able to reopen on Aug. 11.

On Aug. 9, there was a crew who worked all day, and a very special thank-you goes out to all.

The shelter has more work to be done, but the funds don’t allow that at this time. There still needs to be some gravel hauled in and some finish work done, which we hope will be done before winter.

Thank you to all who helped, one way or another. It means a lot to us and everyone who uses the shelter.
