Two letters printed July 14 had information so wrong that an answer has to be made to correct them.
Lenny Powers wrote that Sen. John McCain was better educated than Sen. Barack Obama. Wrong! McCain was a legacy at the Naval Academy; his father was a four-star admiral and so was his grandfather. McCain graduated 894 of 899 graduates. He has no graduate degree. Sen. Obama earned an undergraduate degree from Columbia University and a law degree from Harvard.
Steve Yenco stated that the American Revolution was about too much taxation. Wrong! The American Revolution was, in part, because of taxation without representation. Taxes were passed by the British government of King George, collected in America and sent to England.
During the next few months, people will read and hear all types of rhetoric. Don’t believe it all. There will be lots of hyperbole.
McCain is not too old to be president but he definitely is too sick. The poor man cannot lift his arms over his head and he is in constant pain. He was a nasty little guy with a bad temper before he was shot down and injured. Since his injuries and disability, he has become even more intemperate.
If voters want another intemperate, legacy, frat boy as president, definitely vote for McCain.
