With the rising price of gasoline, and no end in sight, many people are thinking of trading in their SUV or truck. I question if it is worth it.
Yes, people will save money overall, but they give up safety.
I know this from experience. I owned an SUV, a Ford Explorer. My children and I were in an accident recently. My vehicle was at a complete stop and was rear-ended by another vehicle. My Explorer was totaled.
Thankfully, we all walked away with minor injuries, but I truly believe had we been in a small car, we would have been seriously injured or killed.
To anyone thinking of trading in their safe, gas-guzzling vehicle, consider what you may be giving up. The price one might pay for it isn’t worth saving a few dollars.
