Legalizing marijuana concerns more people than will admit it.
I just watched a news clip on CNBC about a California quality certification program for marijuana. The clip noted that, in California, selling legal medical marijuana is a $2 billion industry, generating more than $100 million in tax revenue.
In Maine, having possession of marijuana can cost a person his freedom, a home – everything. When police catch a person with marijuana, it’s off to jail when at best it should be a simple summons.
In homogenized America, how can the East Coast and the West Coast be so far apart on a subject that affects more than we we are willing to admit?
Just when I think I should be a Republican, I find another big reason to be Democrat.
But wait, California has a Republican governor.
