We want to thank the fire and rescue squads from Rumford, Mexico, Roxbury and Byron, along with all the other people who helped during the extrication and recovery last week following the logging truck accident in Byron (March 7). Everyone did an awesome job and we are deeply appreciative.

At a time like that, you really appreciate competence, dedication and effort, and I saw a lot of that.
