This is in response to Joe Ziehm’s letter (Feb. 27) about a previous letter of mine (Feb. 21).

First, his letter didn’t even address what I stated.

Second, how does Ziehm know that I don”t respect those involved in the shootings? He doesn’t even know me, and I said nothing, in my opinion, that showed lack of respect. I was just offering a solution.

Third, it is already against federal law for those with mental illness to possess, own, buy, sell or use a gun.

Fourth, concerning his statement about the 2nd Amendment – did we have computers and the Internet 200 years ago when the 1st Amendment was written? It’s all relevant!

Finally, the point of my letter was, and still is, the school shootings and what to do to stop them.
