Has anyone else noted that during every election season when there are referendum questions to be voted on, suddenly we are bombarded with ads stating that the issues will create more jobs for the state?
I have been hearing this now for as far back as I can remember, and yet the state is having problems with keeping our young people here in the state to work. Frequently, our college graduates leave the state for better wages, and better opportunities.
I hope that the citizens of Maine are informed enough to see that a racino in Washington County would help to bring a great amount of revenue to the state.
We really missed the boat when we voted against the casino. There are at least five buses a day, each with about 40 people on board, headed to Foxwoods. Now, if the 40 people on each of these buses each spend $100, which is a realistic number, do the math. That is some big money that we passed up. Let’s not make the same mistake.
Let’s say no to these referendum questions, stop overspending, and vote in favor of the racino in Washington County.
