I agree with the article “Man barred from Poland over dog shooting.” (Aug. 31). Paul Parker Jr. was caught shooting his family’s dog, drunken driving, and harassing his family. He was charged for animal cruelty, theft of an firearm, and violating a protection order. He is not allowed to go Poland and he is not allowed contact with his ex-wife and son.

In the article, Ms. Parker stated, “He has got to be stopped.” I agree with Ms. Parker 100 percent. It is very wrong to steal a firearm, but it’s even worse to kill an animal with that same gun. Shooting your pet is just like shooting a member of your own family. How would you feel if your pet was shot by someone? Wouldn’t you feel sick to your stomach and be very, very depressed? It feels like the court is letting him off easy by only setting bail at $25,000. You would think what Mr. Parker did, he should be locked away for a very, very long time.

Would you want this man on the streets anywhere near you? Who knows what else he would do?
