From a strong field of Democrats, I am supporting Sen. Hillary Clinton.

I saw her at Berlin, N.H., last winter and was very impressed with what she had to say, her ability to lead effectively, love of country and desire to find a solution to the Iraq quagmire.

I believe she is considerate, intelligent and best qualified. She understands diplomacy and the complexity of the wide scope of problems facing our democracy. She has learned, from being in the White House and a senator, that solutions to what appear to be insurmountable problems may be found by working in a bipartisan way within the system. Her health care plan has ideas fostered by Republicans.

I like the fact that she would carefully pick people for political appointments that are experienced, knowledgeable, and intelligent. Just as Bill Clinton choose Republican William Cohen for secretary of defense.
