In a recent column, Cal Thomas discussed the controversy surrounding Sen. Larry Craig, R-Ore., who pleaded guilty to soliciting in a men’s restroom. Craig has since publicly recanted the guilty plea and denies being homosexual.
In concluding the article, Thomas quoted Apostle Paul from his letter to the Romans 1:32.
In my opinion, Thomas brought up many relevant issues about individual failings of politicians, both Republican and Democrat, as well as the inherent corruption in Washington.
There is an important point that was left out. Craig has been an ardent opponent of homosexuals, and now has become a victim of the very persecution that he championed. Regardless of Craig’s sexual orientation, this incident offers a good example of just how harmful those types of policies are to society as a whole.
I think that there is another scripture that might apply: John 8:7 “Let anyone among you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”
