Over the past year, members of the Maine Legislature and a diverse group of environental groups have been focusing on one of our most precious assets: our water. At a time in our nation when we face many challenges that affect our natural resources, it is easy to overlook one of the most basic needs of our everyday lives.

As decaying pipes, aging equipment and new federal standards have all recently impacted our water resources it has become obvious that now is the time to make an investment in our future.

On June 12, voters have the opportunity to vote Yes on Question 2, an environmental bond to leverage additional federal funding to ensure a clean, clear and abundant water supply for today and tomorrow. I encourage all those who support this bond package to get to the polls and vote to guarantee clean water for our community.
