I was initially very disappointed when I read the front page article about the soldier who said “I don’t want to go back” (to Iraq). But his father’s correction of the misinformation restored my faith in our soldiers.

Now I am left with some questions. How can I believe anything I read in the Sun Journal? Where will I now get the information I need to make intelligent, and informed, decisions about politics and policies? Certainly not from the Sun Journal. The Sun Journal lied to readers. With some creative editing, editors distorted this soldier’s words to create the impression that he is against the war in Iraq.

Is there a worse way to dishonor his service than what was done with that article? The only people who got the true story are those who read the opinion page. The Sun Journal owes that soldier an apology, and readers a proper correction, on the front page, above the fold.

This was no difference of opinion; it was a distortion of fact.

After this episode, I see the Sun Journal as no better than any of the other liberal papers that are doing everything they can to weaken this president – choosing and slanting stories to affect what people think, and always favoring the liberal point of view.
