On March 13, Marine Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, publicly made the statement that homosexual acts are “immoral,” and that they should not be condoned, once again beating the dead horse about gays in the military.

Following that logic, it is wrong for two men to love each other, but acceptable for one man to kill another one in the name of whatever political agenda the president wishes to push. The death toll is more than 3,000 now.

“Don’t ask, don’t tell” is nothing new. In every war that the United States has ever fought, gay men, and more recently, gay women have faithfully served, and much gay blood has been shed in the course of duty. And many gay lives have been lost defending the cause of freedom.

Does anyone else find it hypocritical that a select group of people who have fought and died for the cause of freedom are having their own freedom threatened?

I strongly urge Gen. Pace to focus his undivided attention on the task at hand. Get the U.S. out of Iraq without leaving that fledgling democracy vulnerable. That should be his only concern.
