Slow day in the news?

This is in regard to the story on the front page on Feb. 20: “Police say coin stunt not funny.”

Why would the newspaper write a story about something that happened 17 months ago, that except for being immature and silly, did not hurt or harm anyone and is irrelevant today?

Is this going to be a new category in our paper? “Did something stupid when you were 18? Give us a call so that we can put it on the front page.” I feel badly for those two young men. There are few of us who did not do something embarrassing and silly when we were 18, and we are fortunate to not have to worry about it making the front page of our local paper.

Unfortunately, with today’s technology it’s no longer the case. When they posted their video on YouTube, I am sure the last thing they expected was to see it plastered on the front page of their local newspaper. It appears you are scanning YouTube in hopes of finding some local “out there” story; well you found it, and now you’ve embarrassed two really good young men.

Way to go, Sun Journal.
