I want to commend the Sun Journal for daring to finally get rid of Spider-man and Mark Trail. A lot of folks fear change, but it was high time for those two to go. The older generation is a large percentage of the paper’s readership, but appealing to the tastes of a younger market by making such small changes can only serve to prolong the existence of newspapers as a news and information source.
I started reading the paper for the comics and horoscope, and soon moved onto reading other articles and sections. I also like the new Encore section. Instead of ignoring or discarding the old Friday tab, it seems people will be more likely to read the new section. It makes it easier to keep abreast of our local cultural events.
Bravo.
