I have known Wayne Gallant, candidate for Oxford County Sheriff, since we attended high school together in Rumford. We graduated from Stephens High School in 1968, and he has served his town and his country well since then. When I was protesting the war in Vietnam, he was serving in Vietnam.

Gallant is an honest officer and police chief of Wilton. He will be an excellent sheriff for Oxford County.

He has done a tremendous amount of volunteer service in the greater Rumford area, specifically for the young people. He has worked with the Drug Abuse Resistance Education program to provide a positive impression on students. He has worked in the Rumford Police Department to provide a level of professionalism. He will bring these attributes to the sheriff’s department, where honesty and integrity are virtues certainly needed for fair law enforcement in the region.
