Unmentioned in the Sun Journal’s Oct. 2 article entitled “Chapel boosts charities as it closes doors” regarding Good News Chapel is the fact that the chapel paid $20,000 to Maine World Wide Missions Outreach, run by Paul Bernard, for services he rendered or items he provided to chapel members.
Additionally, the Chapel paid Maine World Wide $5,000 to support the Rev. Jon Vermillion, a former pastor of the United Baptist Church of Lewiston, in his ministry in France, and $10,700 to Pastor or Elder Eddie R. Pugh Jr., of Alabama Church Newness of Life Worship Center of Grove Hill, Ala. Maine World Wild Mission Outreach will cease operations and close its bank accounts after these payments are received.
The community should know that the chapel has given its rights in the name “Good News Chapel” to Bruce G. Uldall of Poland, who will now operate an outreach mission under the name “Neutral Ground.”
