How democratic was it for Maine’s Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins to vote “no” on the marriage amendment proposal in discussion in the U.S. Senate? If members of the Republican Party wish to hold their reputation as upholders of Judeo-Christian values, they must stand together on critical social issues, such as defining marriage and family.
Sens. Snowe and Collins do not recognize judicial activism that forces homosexual marriage upon society. They discount that many state Defense of Marriage Act laws are being challenged by homosexuals. They also discount a Nebraska judge who ruled against the will of 70 percent of the people in that state on the subject of gay marriage.
