I am amazed at the ignorance and arrogance of the media. Twice recently the Sun Journal editorial writers attempted to diss the Taxpayer Bill of Rights and, in doing so, showed the world that they apparently don’t even take the time to research what they are writing about.
The following day a half-hearted correction was printed, but that also had an error of fact in it.
Doesn’t anyone at the Sun Journal check the facts?
I would encourage citizens to read carefully the proposed Taxpayer Bill of Rights Bill. It is the legislative record of what is fact and what is or is not a part of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights and see for themselves that most of what the opponents of it are saying is at best hearsay and at worst flat-out lies. A summary and other information about TABOR is available on various Web sites.
Those who mistakenly think that all we have to do is get the Legislature to correct our tax issues need only to look at how terribly they have listened the past several decades.
