Auburn school teacher Tina Vanasse’s comments at the Auburn School Committee’s budget meeting March 15, as reported by the Sun Journal, were out of line. I would not consider it arrogance to question others on how they are spending my money, regardless of my level of education. I would call it prudence.

Citizens do and should dare to question how their tax dollars are being spent. I have lived in Auburn all my life and love it here. However, Auburn has the highest property taxes in a state that has the highest taxes in the country.

When all is said and done we don’t have a lot to show for it.
