Now that the Festival de Joie has called it quits and Lionel Guay has stepped down as chairman, perhaps, at long last, Guay will give credit to Helene Simonne Auger O’Brien, formerly of Lewiston, as the person who gave the festival its name.

In the past, Guay has ducked giving her credit on several occasions when asked. In addition, maybe now Rita Dube will make good on her promise to place a plaque in the Heritage Center acknowledging O’Brien’s small but important contribution to Franco-American culture in Maine.
