The garments that most Iraqi people wear are certainly made to order for anyone wanting to hide bombs. A suicide bomber can walk up to our soldiers and detonate the bomb. Our soldiers are very vulnerable.
If this country is winning the war in Iraq, it is certainly not winning the peace.
Sixty years ago, I was with some of the first from the United States to land in Yokohama, Japan, after the peace accord was signed aboard the U.S.S. Missouri that ended World War II. After the first week of occupation, we put away our weapons.
I stayed until Christmas and dared to walk the streets of Tokyo without fear. No casualties of any kind occurred.
