How come Democrats are the first to protest the war and want to cut back on military spending but are first in line for photo opportunities when it’s time to present our servicemen and women with awards and recognition or to welcome them home?

How come the Clean Water Act originally written by Sen. Muskie in hopes of cleaning up his beloved Androscoggin has done so much for Maine, yet the Androscoggin is the one river still not meeting the standards as written?

How come veterans get arrested for removing white flags from a veterans memorial in Waterville, but no one was arrested for putting the flags there in the first place?

If I lived in Auburn, would I be madder that my taxes went up so much, or thanking my lucky stars for the 15 years that my home may have been undervalued? What – you think the mortgage company appraisals were set based on random numbers?

Based on so many properties increasing in valuation, doesn’t it seem logical that the mill rate will decrease when these new valuations go into effect? Why not wait until you see the mill rate and actual tax bill based on new valuations before forming recall campaigns.
