As the parent of a gay child, I would like to thank James Spencer, Becky Myers, Brenda Theriault and the many other fair-minded people who have written letters in support of the upcoming vote on the civil rights law for homosexuals. I totally agree with them.
I believe that hatred is not a family value, and certainly not what I would call a “Christian family value.” Knowing that my son, as well as many other people’s sons and daughters, finally have their equal civil rights restored to them fills me with joy and hope for a safer future.
I hope and pray that all citizens of voting age, who have not been brainwashed by Paul Madore, will come and vote no on Nov. 8. People should show that they care. Each person should know that a vote may be the one important vote that can make the difference.
Heterosexuals wouldn’t want to lose their civil rights, would they?
I ask all voters not to repeal the civil rights law.
