In an article in the Sun Journal on Sept. 12, I read about the law that requires the teaching of the Constitution on the day it was signed. Many teachers disagreed with this and so do I. Leave the teaching to the teachers.
This law will cause teachers to have to change curriculums that have been used for years to teach kids something kids are taught at least once in grade school and probably again afterward. I’m in eighth grade and will be learning about the entire history of the United States, which includes the Constitution. If we had to learn and relearn this every year, I for one, would get very bored of the lesson and a whole lesson each year at the same time is just kind of crazy to me. Maybe the teachers should decide when to teach it.
