This is in response to the recent letters to the editor about remarks made by Rep. Thomas Shields, R-Auburn. I recently approached Rep. Shields with an issue and a request for help. Even though I am not from his district or a member of his (or any political party), I found him to be responsive, timely, gracious, and he kept me informed every step of the way. I appreciated his efforts and would consider myself fortunate if he represented me.
