Every day I walk to Rumford Elementary School, and I am disgusted to see a sidewalk full of dog feces at the York Street entrance. York Street is heavily traveled by students walking to school, and they should be able to walk on that sidewalk without having to jump over those messes. If a child happens to accidentally step in one, the school is going to be dealing with one smelly mess on the rugs in the building.
I hope the irresponsible people who are leaving this mess for someone else to clean up will see the light and clean up after their own dogs. This is a problem all over town. It has been addressed before, but it doesn’t seem to be getting better.
It is the responsibility of the people walking their dogs to take care of the messes.
