In the Aug. 21 forum, Rep. Craven wrote praising the $83 million (borrowing) bond package that will leverage more than $300 million in federal funds.

The way I understand it, that means we are going to borrow and spend $83 million that we will have to pay back with tax money so we can get $300 million of tax money that will have to be raised by taxes and that will come from you and me plus your children’s children. It’s credit-card spending that I for one can not support.

Maybe we should get a bond issue going for hearing aids for those who refuse to hear the tax-paying public. If I had one of those taxpayer’s bill of rights petitions, I would sign it for all five questions in November.
