I was a proofreader at the Sun Journal 25 years ago. The sports copy was always flawless, otherwise my symbols for delete, transpose, etc., were employed for the errors in spelling.
Proofreading is still an avocation for me, extending to books, magazines and various tomes.
Janet Landry confirms my sentiments in her letter Aug. 10 – that we have entered the era of errors.
