AUBURN — Mary Louise Bartlett, 84, passed away Friday, Nov. 10, at Androscoggin Hospice House in Auburn. Mary was a longtime resident of Monmouth. Mary was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Keene, N.H., the daughter of Winthrop R. Lewis and Mary Anna Rudolf. She was the loving wife of Gerald E. Bartlett, USN, who passed away shortly after their 61st wedding anniversary in 2013. They were married July 19, 1952. Mary and Gerry raised four children while Gerry served his country in the United States Navy. She endured long deployments when Gerry was overseas. After Gerry retired from military service they lived in Brunswick, Mesa, Ariz., and finally, Monmouth, next door to their son, David.

Mary enjoyed many happy times with family and friends. She was an avid reader and great cook. She enjoyed traveling and musical theater.

Mary is survived by her son, David and his wife, MaryAnn of Monmouth; daughter, Diane Rector and her husband, Richard of Brunswick; son, Darrell and his wife, Theanna of West Gardiner; and her daughter, Debra, passed away in 1999. Grandchildren include, Heather Bartlett Adams of Scarborough, Thomas Kennett of Florida, and Eric Rector of Brunswick. Grandson, Shaun Bartlett, passed away in May 2017. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren. She is the sister of Emily Lewis Nelson of Hillsboro, N.H., Winthrop Lewis of Keene, N.H., and Raymond Lewis of Vero Beach, Fla. Mary was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Robert; daughter, Debra; husband, Gerry; and grandson, Shaun.
