Jan Kubiac, Albany Township, wrote in the Sun Journal (March 28) how Republicans tried to prevent the existence of our Social Security. She listed the years and how the Republican Party tried.

After living my 87 years, I know that she is correct with her facts. Imagine how it would have been if no workers got to have a chance to retire and enjoy a few years at the end of life.

That party also wanted no Medicare ever, and President Bush is spending money on TV ads to accomplish the same but using a different way by lying to the public.

The president eliminated one dictator in Iraq, but how about all others in Korea, Africa and elsewhere?

It has cost billions and, sadly, many children now have no dads. Widows will grieve for a long time.

Many nations are pulling out their troops, and evidence of fraud and corruption in Iraq are many.
