When I was growing up in Aroostook County, we used to consider Sunday a day of rest for the poor animals and a chance to enjoy the woods without the fear of being shot at.

If the governor and all those folks looking for more money get their way, people may be restricted to their backyards next fall.

Hunting on Sunday is an idea that needs to be nipped in the bud. We have enough people out shooting just for the noise or shooting because they thought they saw something, and many who do not practice safe hunting practices in other ways.

We need Sundays off from the fear of being shot at while taking a walk in the woods in the fall, relaxing after a busy week of stress and strain.
