Not long ago, I read in this paper that people receiving Social Security will get a small increase in benefits and that has been a long time in coming! After reading this, I told my wife that Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield will come out with a rate hike soon and that will take care of the Social Security raise.

In the Oct. 22 paper, that’s exactly what happened. Blue Cross and Blue Shield wants an increase of almost 15 percent.

We hope the attorney general will win in advocating that this increase will be lower than the 14.7 percent. All in all, what else is new? A lot of people here in Maine are insurance poor.
